A generation held hostage

The Muslim world has long been paying a bloody price. One may ask whether the violent scenes that the Muslim world has been witnessing from east to west are simply the labor pains of childbirth, or the results of a damned and chaotic death. Even if we are uncertain over the future, we certainly have a good accumulation of knowledge and experience of our present situation and all-round history. DEVAMI>>>…

Is it the West’s double standards?

Criticisms against the West, which does not call a coup a “coup,” are highly inconsistent. It is ironic that the apostle-of-democracy type objections about the West’s double standards arise from those who believe themselves to settling accounts with the West.

Yes, there is, and has always been, a contradiction between the West’s discourse and its realpolitik. The fact that the children of a region which has been abused by the West for at least a few centuries have emerged with the discovery of a double standard is, at the least, shallow and insubstantial. Before the Nile bursts into flames

A military coup has occurred in Egypt.

Just as Western media and the leaders of Western nations, particularly the United States and United Kingdom, have not condemned the overthrowing of an elected president, they will not even refer to the current situation as a “coup.” DEVAMI>>>…

An Islamic union for Islamists

We are not paying sufficient attention to the resemblances between the historical background which serves as a reference for the recently revived debates on Islamism and the conditions of the period in which we find ourselves. Apart from what we must understand from the conceptualization of Islamism, there seems to be a strange correlation between the reduction of Islamism as a phenomenon into an object of the history of political thought, and the departure of Muslims from being subjects. You will swap Jerusalem in exchange for what?

As the political equation in the Middle East is being reestablished, the balances bound, and/or subordinate, to Israel are also being re-shaped. Setting aside the conscience-afflicting state of Syria which has left it out of the equation, the chaotic situation is pulling not only the Zionist occupation administration, but the entire region, into uncertainty. On the other hand the unsettled condition, especially in Egypt, of the new process which began with the ‘Arab Spring’ is pushing the parameters of the new order… DEVAMI>>>…

What was said in Diyarbakir?

A university resists in Jerusalem

With every passing day Jerusalem is being “cleansed” of Palestinians; in other words, it is undergoing “Judaification” due to the systematic implementations of Zionist colonialism. By conducting an ethnic cleansing which has been rendered innocent through the myths being broadcast worldwide, the Jews who came from all over the world are systematically cleansing the Palestinians who were born and raised on the land. With the exception of withdrawing from Sinai as part of the peace treaty that rendered Egypt inactive, Israel has not yet taken a step backwards on any issue and has not kept to any agreement. Fear of Islam, or Hatred?

Did the sudden presence of Islamophobia on the West’s agenda result from a perception of threat? How credible is a political analysis which claims that “Everything began after the September 11 attacks?” There is also no doubt that approaches such as “it is a manifestation of the hatred of Islam inherent in the West’s genes” are repetitions of a very general rote memorization. Will the EU split due to the competition in Africa?

The operation in Mali, directly supported by the European powers is actually a regional reflection of global power competition. Western media has prepared the psychological ground and therefore a reason for an intervention considerably increasing islamofobia by exaggeratedly portraying the rebels as left alone and asking for foreign powers to intervene, and the “Islamists” – the word used as an insult in Western media – as easlily getting the country under their control.
